Obituary of Vera Roberts

Please share a memory of Vera to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Vera Lilian Daisy Roberts passed away peacefully at home in the arms of her loving family, in Lloydminster, Alberta, during the early hours of Saturday, February 25 2017 at the age of 93 years. Mum is survived by her daughter, Barbara and Doug Hoffman, her son Barry and Betty Roberts; Grandsons, Mark and Jane Hyatt, Edward and Alison Roberts; Great Grandchildren, Rebekah and Kento Kobayashi-Hyatt, Jack Hyatt and Jessica Roberts; Special nephew Edward and Sue Hopper, and a variety of other family members including her younger brother, Bill Allen and his family. Mum was predeceased by her husband, Frank Roberts, in 2001 (this year would have been their 72 wedding anniversary); by her daughter Brenda in 2010, her parents, 3 brothers and 1 sister. Mum chose to come to live in Lloydminster at the age of 91, much to our surprise and delight. She was active and alert and still travelled as much as her health allowed, in her last year she visited Las Vegas and went to Alaska on a cruise with family. Barry and Betty toured her around Alberta and even in her last days she was talking about going to see Mount Rushmore and back to Seattle. Now she will continue to see these places through our eyes. She enjoyed very much being the centre of attention and enjoyed life especially when surrounded by her family, with us all laughing and singing with her. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at 2:00 PM at McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta. The reception will immediately follow the service at the Knox Presbyterian Church Hall. Donations in memory of Vera may be made to the Lloydminster Hospital Palliative Care.
