Dorothy Bolton passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by: her sons; Barry (Donna) Foulds, Barry Bolton and David Bolton; grandchildren, Megan (David) Willm, Ian (Kristin) Foulds, Laurie Roberts, Matlock Bolton and Donavhin Bolton; great grandchildren, Nora and Levi Willms, Marin, Corban, Jeriah and Asher Foulds; sisters, Agnes Delisle and Loretta (Edwin) Schultz; brother-in-law, William Flegal; sister-in-law, Sophie Frehlich; special friend, Fran Nickless; and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy was predeceased by: her spouse, George; parents, Balzer and Loretta Frehlich; brothers, Alphonse and George; sisters, Mickey Patterson, Betty Pollard and Rose Marie Flegal. The Funeral Service for Dorothy will be conducted from St. John’s Anglican Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at 2:00 PM. Eulogy ~ Dorothy was born on August 5, 1921 at the hotel in Leipzeg, Saskatchewan. The hotel was owned at the time by her maternal grandparents. Dorothy was the second child of Balzer and Loretta Frehlich. She grew up with two brothers and five sisters. Dorothy was educated in Broadacres and later at Langmeade, Saskatchewan. It was while living in the Langmeade area that she married Nelson Foulds on February 23, 1940. To this union Barry Lynn was born on May 14, 1943. Dorothy and Nelson divorced and Barry went to live with his father and step-mother, who later moved to British Columbia. Dorothy cooked in a logging camp in Nordegg, Alberta before moving to Lloydminster to be near her sister Mickey and her family. She worked at the hospital as a cook. Lloydminster became her permanent home once Dorothy met and married Mickey's neighbor, George Bolton on August, 1951. Their first son Barry George was born on July 8, 1952 followed by David John on December 28, 1959. Over the years Dorothy thoroughly enjoyed being a wife and mother. She was a caregiver for many years for her in-laws and later for her own mother. Dorothy also spend several years providing babysitting services in her home for two families in the community. Cooking gardening and preserving food gave Dorothy great pleasure. Dorothy loved flowers, her favorite being roses. She enjoyed sewing her own clothes, crocheting and she was an avid reader. Dorothy was a talented painter. She has many paintings to prove this. She was a member of the Allied Artists and continued to enjoy painting well into her late eighties. David has a painting that she won an award for hanging in his home. Dorothy was very involved over the years in the Legion because George was a war veteran. She was the last president of the Ladies Legion Auxiliary. She also served on the Royal Canadian Legion Honor Guard at funerals and as an active fundraiser. Dorothy proudly walked as a flag bearer at the Lloydminster parade for many years. Dorothy was also very involved with her church, St. John's Anglican Church. She was always willing to help out in any way she could. Dorothy and George loved to dance and spent many an evening socializing and dancing with their friends. They also loved to travel and took many trips to the West Coast. Dorothy looked forward to these annual trips to visit family and fish on the ocean. Dorothy was able to take two trips to the Maritimes, one with George and friends and the other with friends on a senior bus tour. Vacations were spent visiting and having fun with both Dorothy and George's families. Trips to Meota, North Battleford and Saskatoon were frequent and enjoyed by all the family. Dorothy and George were especially close to her sister Rose and husband Bill, her brother Alphonse and family and her brother George and his family. In the past 20 years Dorothy and her sister Agnes developed a very close relationship. They made daily phone calls and visited whenever possible. Dorothy always made her sisters Mickey, Betty and Loretta feel welcome whenever they would come to visit or she would go to visit them. One of Dorothy's favorite things was being with her family, especially her grandchildren and she always welcomed all her nieces and nephews into her home with open arms. She was also a second mother to Barry's good friend, George Christie. She shared her abundant love with all her friends. Her home was open to all and was always full of good food, lots of love and hugs and kisses. Dorothy is lovingly remembered by her three sons, Barry Foulds and his wife Donna, Barry Bolton and David Bolton. Grandchildren - Meghan Willms and her husband David; Ian Foulds and his wife Kristin; Laurie Roberts; Matlock Bolton and Donavhin Bolton. Great grandchildren - Nora and Levi Willms; Marin, Corban, Jeriah and Asher Foulds. Sisters - Agnes Delisle, Loretta Schultz and her husband Edwin. Brother-in-law William Flegel; Sister-in-law Sophie Frehlich; several cousins and numerous nieces and nephews; Special friend - Fran Nickless. Dorothy was predeceased by her husband George Bolton, her parents Balzer and Loretta Frehlich and her sisters Mickey Patterson, Betty Pollard and Rosemarie Flegel. Dorothy left a written message saying the following: "I enjoy everyday that I am alive and I want my friends and family to remember me for the way I loved and cared for each and everyone of them". Donations in Dorothy's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
