Obituary of Wilma Pearl Sharpe

Wilma Pearl Sharpe passed away at Lloydminster Continuing Care Centre, Lloydminster, Alberta on Monday, January 22, 2018 at the age of 97 years.

Wilma Pearl Sharpe was born September 13, 1920 in Yorkton, Sk. Her parents were Dr. William Garfield Sharpe and Lillie Pearl Sharpe.  Upon graduating High School in Yorkton, Wilma worked at Yorkton general Hospital as a X-ray and Lab Tech for 18 years.  Her calling to the ministry with United Church of Canada came with her traveling to Toronto in 1958 for her early training. In 1960 Wilma went to Point Claire, Que. where she became a Deaconess.  Wilma served in Prince Rupert, Nainimo and then at Grace United Church in Lloydminster which was her last assignment.

Wilma is survived by: her two nieces, Myrna Stephens and Colleen Sinclair (Jack); her six nephews and wives, Jim Sharpe (Lisa), John Sharpe (Joan), Ken Harvey (Vee), Ross Finlayson (Patty), Lorne McIndoe and Gar McIndoe (Marilyn); and a very special friend, Gladys Jack.   

Wilma is predeceased in death by: her parents, Lillie and William; her sisters, Jean McIndoe, Minnie Harvey and Dorothy Finlayson; her brothers, Walter Sharpe and Lloyd Sharpe; and several nieces and nephews.

The Memorial Service for Wilma will be conducted from Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at 2:00 PM.

Donations in memory of Wilma may be made to Grace United Church Mission and Service or donor's charity of choice.
