Due to circumstances we were disappointed to miss the Celebration of Kai’s life. He was always so hospitable - he would whip up a dinner plate in no time! He was like his parents in that way. When I was a teenager & young adult I considered it a pleasure when Kai would ask me to dance. He was the ‘man with educated feet’ - probably thanks to sisters Evelyn & Ida! He loved his horses & the cowboy -ranch life. He continued to feed up with horses much after many of us had gone to using tractors & feed trucks. I think one of the hi-lights for Kai was his trip to the NFR in Oklahoma with Wad Bradshaw! Thanks Kai for the memories of friendship over the years. Marilyn & George Mann

We are sadly going to miss Kai, he loved the horses, Don will never forget Kai spending time with Don and his team. Kai was a wealth of knowledge. I will miss his flirtatious ways. God speed Kai. Our thoughts and Prayers of Healing are said in his honor.

Our sincere condolences to Kai’s family, upon hearing of his passing. He and my dad (Jack Leighton) formed a close friendship while they were both residents at the Pioneer Lodge. They spent hours reliving their farming days and especially loved talking about their work horses. I can only imagine how they must be enjoying each other’s company now that both have earned their angel wings! Helen Leighton & Lillian Leighton Slack
