To Bev & Reid, Our deepest sympathy on the passing of Eric. Azizah has happy memories of when she first met Eric and Bev in Sale Victoria some 35 years ago and our family also has fond memories of the time we spent together on your trip to Australia when you visited us in Sydney and Reid was just 16 or so years old. We watched the funeral service via the video link and just wanted to say it was absolutely beautiful, a very fitting tribute to a wonderful person from every aspect of a life well lived. Eric would be very proud of you Reid and the way you handled yourself on one of the toughest days in a young man life, testament to the great Dad that he was and the great young man you are. Bev, your letter reading summed up an amazing journey of love and commitment and a life well shared together. Thinking of you at this saddest of times, Azizah, Wayne & Will Sampson

Technically my uncle but with only 5 months between us we were best friends the first 12 years. We had a blast into our 20’s then life got busy. So lucky to reconnect a few years ago. So many stories. Rest easy my friend. You were definitely one of a kind. Much love John

My wife Sommer and I moved to Kitscoty in April of 2004. My first post as a new Mountie with the RCMP and my wife making the move to AB with me from a small town in MB. We met both Eric and Bev early on as Eric was a reservist. We all hung out as much as we could despite busy schedules. Eric was a fantastic reservist, friend and human being. We laughed hard on late night patrols and one almost slammed into an escaped black Angus cow wondering around the HWY near Dewberry going to a high priority call at 150km. Sommer and I wil always remember him. Our hearts are with you Bev and Reid. We are so sorry.
