Ralph Seabrook

Obituary of Ralph Seabrook

Please share a memory of Ralph to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Louis Ralph Seabrook; born August 15, 1927, the eighth child of a family of ten born to Leonard and Alice Seabrook. Named Ralph by his parents at birth he later chose to legally add Louis to the front of his name at about the age of 15.

Born in the farmhouse near Cleeves SK, he moved to North Battleford as a young man and worked at several different jobs. It was there that he met Joan Weaver. They married on November 24, 1954. Ralph and Joan moved back to his birthplace in the spring of 1955. They soon built their home, piece by piece where it still stands today; only a half mile from where he was born and grew up. It was here that they raised their six children and provided a rural retreat for many others.

Ralph farmed on this homestead for 62 years. Leaving only for short periods of time to upgrade his education and take a short electrical course. Ralph loved horses and drove a team for most of his farming years. The purchase of the Clydesdales in the late 1980’s was a fulfillment of a lifelong dream.

He retired to the Turtle Valley Lodge in the fall of 2015 then on to the nursing home in Turtleford, but his heart and passion never left the farm where he loved to be.

Ralph leaves to mourn his passing: his 6 children Vernon (Charlene), Janice (Martin), Steven (Paula), David (Gloria), Evelyn (Glen) and Kathy (Darcy); 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Ralph was predeceased by: his loving wife Joan; his parents, Leonard and Alice Seabrook; nine siblings; and one great grand daughter.
