James Nichol

Obituary of James Nichol

It is with deep sadness that we, the family of James (Jim) Harlan Nichol of Turtleford, announce his sudden passing at the age of 61 years.

James leaves to mourn: his mother, Jenny Nichol; brothers, Jason Nichol, Jarrod Nichol and Justin Nichol; sister, Debra (Ben) Seier; sons, Morgan (Tshanna) Nichol and Connor (Katelyn) Nichol; grandchildren, Chareltonne, Lochin, Evigale, Lawson, Lucas and Nora; and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

James was predeceased by: his father, Stanley Nichol; and grandson, Ledger.

James was born in Turtleford. At the age of 3, they moved and spent time in Edmonton and Busby before moving back to the family farm near Brightsand lake in 1977. When he was young, he enjoyed hunting and trapping with his father, riding his dirt bike around the countryside with his brothers and Ringo and generally causing some kind of mischief.

James had a long career in the oilfield and made many friends far and wide. Anyone who knew James knew he loved to tell stories and had many of them to share. Sometimes you would wonder if he was pulling your leg, as it seemed the deer always got bigger and the bears always got meaner.

James lived for his family. He was so proud of his sons and loved his grandchildren very much. He will be truly missed.
