Neil Derek Bettcher passed away peacefully after a long illness at Pine Island Lodge, Maidstone, SK on April 1, 2025 at the age of 71 years.

Neil leaves to mourn: his brother, Gordon (Carol); sister, Jean (Eugene); nieces, Andrea (Rhod) and Jenna (Adam); nephews, Chris (Laura) and Marc (Tanya); and numerous extended family and friends.

Neil was predeceased by: his parents, John and Jessie Bettcher.

In his young life he enjoyed many sports including, hockey, soccer, football, baseball and track. Neil was an avid reader. He was a skilled hunter and fisherman and used canoes and boats. Neil was a member of the University of Saskatchewan Huskies, a driller in the oilfields of Albert and the Arctic of Northern Canada. He also enjoyed farming with his Dad for many years and worked with Wayne and Gloria Fehr. 

The Memorial service will be held at Maidstone United Church, Maidstone, SK on  Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at 1:00 pm. 

Donations in memory of Neil may be made to Maidstone Health Complex - Pine Island Lodge.
