Obituary of Birnie Hotchkiss
In deep sadness the family of Birnie Dean Hotchkiss announce his passing near Lloydminster on May 3, 2025 at the age of 70 years.
"Heaven got a good one"; no, heaven received an exceptional one. His life was filled with wood working, hunting, his Harley, his work, shooting clays, having deep conversations, his sons, his wife and most important his grandchildren.
It gives us a small bit of comfort knowing that when he left this world, he was doing what he truly enjoyed; shooting sporting clays surrounded by nature and that he passed quickly.
Birnie is survived by: his loving wife, Angela of 42 years; son, Cayle (Stephanie) and their children, Ben, Phoebe and William; son, Phillip (Marie) and their children, Emmett, Noah and Gwendolyn; son Brett (Sarah) and their children, Chilton, Goldie, Gemma and Juliette; son, Jake (Monique) and and their children, Kipp and baby due in June; stepson, Tyler Simons (Shannon) and their child, Sidney; siblings, Esther Dupperon, Doug Hotchkiss, Allen Hotchkiss, Bev Davies and Shelly Doerksen and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Birnie was predeceased by: his grandson, Wilder Hotchkiss; parents, Dean and Kay Hotchkiss; and parents-in-law, Ernie and Joy George.
The Memorial Service for Birnie will be conducted from McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, AB, on May 15, 2025 at 1:00 pm.
Donations in memory of Birnie may be made to Lloydminster & District Fish & Game Association or The Bordertown Toy Run.
