Obituary of Darcy Start

Darcy Craig Start passed away at Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, SK on Wednesday May 14, 2025 at the age of 51 years old.

Darcy was a friendly, socialble and outgoing son, brother, uncle and great-uncle. He enjoyed being busy and on the go with his side by side or skidoo. He always had time to chat or go for coffee. Darcy loved music, dancing and karaoke. Darcy enjoyed his participation on the Special O bowling team where he won numerous metals and trophies. He loved being in the outdoors fishing, boating or picking bottles. Darcy’s absolute favorite place to be was at the Chuckwagon races. He loved to hangout at the barns, cheer for the drivers and visit in the stands. Darcy was a loyal and regular fan of TeleMiracle. Darcy was a member of the Turtleford Lion’s Club and worked many jobs in several towns in his life. One of Darcy’s favorite jobs was at Fountain Tire in Lloydminster where he knew more of the customers than his boss.        

Darcy is survived by: his father, Charles Start; mother, Bonnie Start; brother, Jaret Start; sister, Megan Shingoose (Daniel Shingoose); nieces, Sasha and Maribelle; nephew, Teddy; great nieces, Azizzah, Jazmyn and Charlotte; and numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

Darcy was predeceased by: his grandparents, Herb and Norma Start, Mike and Chestina Laboucane; and numerous uncles and aunties.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Lloydminster Native Friendship Center, 4602 49th Ave. Lloydminster, SK on Sunday May 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Telemiracle or Lloydminster Regional Health Foundation - Pioneer House.
