Shelly Marie Chief passed away at St. Paul's Hospital, Saskatoon, SK on May 1, 2026 at the age of 41 years.

Shelly was born December 2, 1984 in Paradise Hill, SK to Leona Chief and Cameron Dillon.

Shelly was a tiny playful little girl that would spend hours with her cousins and siblings whether it be playing outdoors or at her grandparents house. Her grandparents Leo and Mary were so careful with her as she was a fragile baby that needed that extra care. She always had the 

biggest smile for everyone she saw. 

Shelly spent most of her life living in Saskatoon, but enjoyed visits with family when she could. She had an abundance of love for family, the crazy humour she had was shared with her closest friends and family as well. Although her life was hard Shelly loved and cared for the well being of others especially her family. She laughed as if there was no wrong in the world, she had such a strong spirit as she overcame so much in her life. Shelly’s strength to go another day was her own will as she had her baby boy Ryder to look forward to seeing each day. In the end her heart was weak, but she had the strength to enjoy laughing and being herself with her siblings, aunties and close cousins by her side. We know she was the happiest in that moment. 

Shelly leaves to mourn her passing: her children, Sierra Crowe, Jayden Crowe, Jarell Laliberte and Ryder Chief; brother, Tyson Chief; sisters, Jennifer, Judy, Tricia, Carmen, Chyna and Carlene (Les); step-dad, Terry Cook; aunties she took as her moms; Irene, Mj, Shar, Carolyn and Josie; and multiple uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Shelly is predeceased by: her mother, Leona; brothers, Darwin,Cameron and Kolin; nephew, Isaiah; uncle, Glen Champagne; grandparents, Leo and Mary Champagne; and father, Cameron.

The Wake for Shelly will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, SK on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at 12:00 PM.

The Funeral Service for Shelly will be conducted from Onion Lake Communiplex, Onion Lake, SK on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at 11:00 AM.
