She was the beloved older sister of Betty Ann [Gary Giilck], Terry [Jeanette] LaLonde and Frank LaLonde.
After completing her education in Marquis, she boarded at Sion Academy in Moose Jaw for High School. She furthered her education at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina where she earned the designation of Registered Nurse. Leone spent her 40 year nursing career first in Regina, then at the Battlefords Union Hospital, the Lloydminster Hospital and finally, at the former Lloydminster Auxiliary Hospital.

This 63-year union produced 5 children: Veronica Duczek [Tim Leier]; Michele Duczek; Raymond Duczek; Jeff [Tanya] Duczek; Neil Duczek and 2 grandchildren: Zinnia and Jackson Leier. It also produced many camping adventures and a true love for travel, whether by car or by cruise ship. Most memorable was the 1976 road trip to Boston, MA with stops to visit family along the way.
Family was very important to Leone. She kept 6 people organized, fed and nurtured. She made sure we stayed close to our aunts, uncles, cousins and grandparents. She embraced the food traditions of the Duczek family and was an expert at cabbage rolls and perogies.
Leone was a valued member of the Lloydminster community, volunteering as an usher at the Vic Juba Theatre and other events in the city and singing with the Lloydminster Minstrels. Most
importantly, she was a cherished member of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church as an eucharistic minister, a music minister and an active member of the CWL.
