It is with heavy hearts we express our sadness in Bob’s sudden passing. We were left wanting more time.

Bob was born on January 2, 1956, in Port Colborne, Ontario and passed away June 21, 2026 in Lloydminster, Alberta.

He is fondly remembered by: the mother of their children, Joan; children Luke (Amy) and Jayne (Derek) Lindskog. He is held close by: his grandchildren, Iris, Oskar, Charlie, Lennon, Indie & Aspyn.

He is survived by: his siblings, Linda (Paul) Austin, Lila (Rick) Czerny, Lee Ann (Dale), Tom and Lisa; as well as extended family.

He is predeceased by: his grandson, Benjamin Lindskog; parents, George & Doreen Roper, and sister, Laura Roper.

In 1993, Bob had surgery that came with medical complications. This changed his life and family forever. The chronic pain was challenging; but he always made the best of his condition. There is comfort knowing he is no longer in pain.

He was an unassuming, kind man who enjoyed working with his hands and hanging out with the people he loved. You could always count on Bob to make you feel welcome and seen. If getting there involved making a mildly inappropriate comment, a goofy face or saying something in a silly voice, well, that’s just what he would do. It was his way of trying to include you and to make you laugh.

His grandchildren, the little schmooglets, were his joys; and to him, there was nothing better than snuggling the newest baby in the family.

He adored his daughter, Jayne, and loved watching her grow into a beautiful mother of four sweet girls. He was an avid fan of the kids in their sports and recently enjoyed watching Charlie, Lennon & Indie in swim club. Aspyn, his youngest granddaughter always had him smiling and kept him on his toes with her shenanigans.

So many memories were built outdoors, and countless unforgettable moments were shared with his son, Luke, out in the bush. While the outcome of their excursions may not have always been in their favour, the time spent together was always the point. He loved to take his family and friends fishing. When his grandchildren, Iris & Oskar weren’t busy with hockey, they were always eager to share boat rides and ice fishing shacks with their Pappy as well as exchange many a fish tale.

While quiet and private, Bob left an immeasurable impact on those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His presence surrounds us in the projects he made, the skills he passed on, the stories he told and the unconditional love he gave. We cherish the time we had and the memories made together.

Bob, Dad, Pops, Pappy, Uncle Bob we love you and are going to miss you so much. You will forever be in our hearts.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
