Bertha Lena Salzl was born in the Meadow Dew District on July 12, 1934. She was the 10th of 12 children born to Raoul & Melina (Regnier) Lemieux. Bertha married Bill Salzl on November 4, 1952 in Paradise Hill and together they raised 11 children on the family farm. Bertha enjoyed gardening, bowling, crocheting, knitting and sewing.

Bertha is survived by her children: Monica (Sam) Scholtens, Michael (Sandra) Salzl, Allison (Bruce) Corrigan, Dena (Ken) Hinke, Kevin (Patsy) Salzl, Wayne Salzl, Curtis (Kelly) Salzl, Barry (Sherrie) Salzl, Sheri (Garry) Lanfermann, Karen (Kim) McCubbing and Krissy (Leon) Wenger; 32 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; sister, Jeannine Gervais;  and brother, Raymond (Marion) Lemieux.

Bertha was predeceased by: her husband, Bill; grandchildren, Raylene Salzl, Rebecca Hinke, Darcy Corrigan and Christa Scholtens; parents, Raoul and Melina Lemieux; siblings, Delphine, Albert, George, Germaine, Aimee, Helen, Denise, Rolande and Charles; and numerous in-laws; nieces and nephews.

Donations in memory of Bertha may be made to Paradise Hill Care Home or Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church (Building Fund).

The Prayer Service for Bertha will be conducted from Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Paradise Hill, SK on Sunday, July 5, 2026 at 5:00 pm.

The Funeral Service for Bertha will be conducted from Our Lady of Sorrows Roman Catholic Church, Paradise Hill, SK on Monday, July 6, 2026 at 10:00 am. If you are unable to attend in person, you may view the live streaming of the service posted on McCaw Funeral Service website under Bertha's obituary.
