With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Millie Adams, who left us peacefully on July 12, 2026. A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, Millie’s life was defined by her deep devotion to her family and friends.

Born on March 9, 1944, to Laurence and Annie Teasdale, Millie grew up embracing the rural life on the family farm near Paradise Valley, Alberta, alongside her brother, Art, and sister, Ellen. Her school years were marked by good grades, good friends and a love of sports. After finishing high school, she went to Edmonton to complete her hair stylist training at Marvel Beauty School.

Once a hairdresser, she returned home and worked with her dear friend Yvonne at the famous “Una’s Beauty Salon” creating beehives for her clients and having lots of laughs. During this time she married high school boyfriend Ken Adams and the two moved to Lashburn where Millie opened her own hairdressing shop in the local Coop store. After Lashburn, they moved back to Lloydminster for a time - living in the basement suite of Dave and Agnes McCaw. When Ken got a job at PCL in Edmonton, they moved again, and this is where their first child Pam was born. The family decided it was time to return to their roots and purchased their farm near McLaughlin, where Michelle and Neville were born to complete the family.

Millie loved gardening, crafting and sewing  - making matching outfits for Pam and Michelle and extra-long jeans for Neville. She also continued on with her love of sports - spending many hours at the bowling alley and curling rink and playing fastball with the local ladies team. Millie’s life took an adventurous turn when she moved to the West Coast and began working as a switchboard operator for the Burnaby RCMP, a role she held proudly until her retirement.

It was while she was living in the Lower Mainland that she fell in love with riding motorcycles - specifically her 1200 Harley Davidson Sportster. She made many lifelong friends during this time, including her besties Wendy and Linda. This group of motorcycle mamas travelled on their bikes through BC and into the USA on their many memorable adventures.

Once retired, Millie wanted to be closer to the family that meant everything to her, and returned back home to Lloydminster. Her five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren became the absolute center of her world. She was their biggest fan, rarely missing a single hockey game or softball match, cheering them on from the stands with unmatched pride.

Millie also believed in giving back and loved staying busy. In her retirement, she was a familiar, welcoming face at The Olive Tree in Lloydminster, where she and her gal pals generously volunteered their time to support those in need!  This group of ladies loved volunteering, going on road trips in the area, dressing up in silly clothes for all occasions and their regular Monday morning coffee visits.

Millie will be remembered by: daughters, Pam (Guy) Adams and Michelle (Randy) Gilchrist; son, Neville (Cathy) Adams; 

granddaughters, Shaylene (Ryan) Van Genderen and Juliane Adams; grandsons, Braydon (Jordan) Gilchrist, Ryan (Taylor) Gilchrist and Vaughn Holbeche; great-grandsons, Kane Van Genderen and Vance Gilchrist; sister, Ellen (Dennis) Teasdale; brother, Art (Jackie) Teasdale; and numerous 

nieces and nephews. 

Millie was predeceased by: her parents, Laurence and Annie Teasdale. 

A Come-and-Go Celebration of Millie’s Life will be held Thursday, July 30 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Rolling Green Fairways.
