Juergen Schwenk passed away at Pine Island Lodge, Maidstone, Saskatchewan on July 20, 2026 at the age of 80 years.

Juergen's step-father, Horst, came to Canada in 1953 from Bremen, German, where he was born. In 1954, Juergen, his mother Gertrude, and his brother Harry followed, travelling a difficult ten-day voyage by ship. During the journey, Gertrude became severely ill, and at just seven years old, Juergen took on the responsibility of caring for his young brother. The family continued on by train for four days from Halifax to Selkirk, Manitoba, where they began their life in Canada.

Juergen is survived by: his loving wife, Paulette Schwenk; sons, Greg (Brandy) Kelly (Rhonda) and Robert (Heather); grandchildren, Matthew (Kaydence) Linkin, Lexus, Piper, Nixin, Rocklin and Ava; great-grandchild, Laikyn; brothers, Ron (Lisa) and Harry; sister, Sylvia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Juergen was predeceased by: his mother, Gertrude; and step-father, Horst Schwenk.

A Private Family Service will be held at a later date.
