Obituary of Alfred Dow

BIOGRAPHY DOW ~ Alfred “Fred” Cecil Dow passed away peacefully at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Sunday, December 16, 2007 at the age of 75 years. Fred will be sadly missed by: his loving wife Gladys of Lloydminster; three children: Barry Dow and his wife Cate of Rivercourse, Alan Dow and special friend Brenda of Lloydminster; Patti and her husband Robert Volk of Lloydminster; ten grandchildren; daughter-in-law Jane Dow of Lloydminster; three sisters: Barbara and Vernon Graham of Marsden, Isabella and Bill Beaslay of St. Albert, Joyce Evans of Penticton; three brothers: Bert and Marcie, Johnny and Joan and Wid and Margaret all of Rivercourse as well as numerous other relatives. The funeral service for Fred was conducted from the First Lutheran Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Nolan Astley officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Sylvia Moir, Sally Oakes, Danny Lorinczy, Sherman Djuff, Joe & Vi Konias, Dr. Raff Sayeed and John & Phyllis Volk. Active pallbearers were grandsons: Cody Dow, Kyle Dow, Christopher Dow, Alex Dow, Landon Dow, Tyler Volk and Brett Volk. Interment was held at the Zion Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family thank Dr. R. Sayeed and Dr. P. Naude, Lloydminster and Dr. David Fenton and Romeo Felix, R.N. of the Cross Cancer Institute for the compassionate care they gave to Fred. Thank you to Pastor Astley for his visits and comforting service, Irene Knowlson and Marlene Risling for their beautiful music. To Glenn, Dale and Dave McCaw, a heartfelt thank you. A special thank you to the honorary and active pallbearers. To the Lutheran Church Ladies for the lunch, to all our friends and relations who sent cards, flowers, phone calls, visits and food to the house and for donations in memory of Fred, Thank you. In lieu of thank you cards, a donation has been made to the Cross Cancer Institute. May God Bless each one of you.
