BIOGRAPHY COLLINS ~ Freda Agnes Collins passed away at the Jubilee Home in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan Friday, April 19, 2013 at the age of eighty-five years after a short battle with cancer. Freda leaves to mourn: one son, Larry (Connie) Collins of Sherwood Park, Alberta; one grandson, Brett Collins of Sherwood Park, Alberta; and one sister, Elna Niesen of Elk Point, Alberta. Freda was predeceased by her loving and devoted husband, Walter in 1997. The Funeral Service for Freda was conducted from First Lutheran Church in Lloydminster, Alberta Thursday, April 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor John Haycock officiating. Sandy Baker gave the eulogy. Two solos "There'll Be Peace in The Valley" and "Thank You Lord (Edelweiss Tune)" were sung by Marlene Risling. The hymns sung "How Great Thou Art" and "God Will Take Care of You" were accompanied by pianist Margaret Venance-Ostrom. A Eastern Star Honor Guard was in attendance. The active pallbearers were John Gabrielson, Craig Gabrielson, Ryan Gabrielson, Lyle Baker, Marty Baker and Jeff Collins. Interment was held in the McLaughlin Cemetery, McLaughlin, Alberta. The reception was held in the McLaughlin Hall. Donations in Freda's memory may be made to the McLaughlin Cemetery Fund. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks We would like to express our deepest gratitude and appreciation for all the love and thoughtful gestures that were bestowed upon us while we grieve the loss of our dear mother and grandmother Freda Collins. Thank you to all who donated to various charities on behalf of Freda. Our heartfelt thanks also extend to our family and those who were involved in the funeral service and the reception at McLaughlin hall. We would also like to acknowledge the staff at Pioneer Lodge, Palliative Home Care and Jubilee Home for providing such excellent care. A special thank you to Brenda the palliative care co-ordinator who never missed her daily visits to Freda and us during moms last days in Jubilee. No words can express how much your support meant, and also how helpful you were during such a difficult time.
