JOHNSTON ~ Alan Hugh David Johnston passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at the age of 71 years. Alan leaves to mourn his passing: his loving wife, Doris; two sons, Brad (Rhonda) Johnston of Lloydminster and Derek Johnston of Calgary; four grandchildren: Madison, Carter, Jersey and Burke; one brother, Greg (Cheryl) Johnston; step-mother, Margaret Johnston and several other relatives. Alan was predeceased by his father, Harvey; and mother, Merle. The Funeral Service for Alan was conducted from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church in Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Father Rajappa Savariappan officiating. Dwight Dunsmore gave the eulogy. The music preformed during the service was accompanied by soloist, Lani Burry and pianist, Melanie Pellerin. The honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in his life. The active pallbearers were Willie Boon, Wayne King, Dan Hritzuk, Dwight Dunsmore, Wendell McKellar and Richard Colbow. Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. Donations in Alan's memory may be made to the Cross Cancer Institute or to a Charity of the Donor's Choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family of Alan Johnston would like to thank all the Doctors, Nurses and Ambulance Attendants for their wonderful care of Alan during his illness and to everyone for prayers, flowers, food, cards and donations in Al's memory. We would also like to express our thanks to Father Rajappa Savariappan, Melanie, Lani, Dwight for the eulogy, the pallbearers, Rhonda for her slide show and the Legacy Centre ladies for the lunch.
