BROOKS ~ Alva Theresa Brooks passed away in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the age of 72 years. Alva leaves to mourn her passing: her children, Grace Brooks Dean, Ron and Melinda Brooks, George Brooks, Linda and Lorne Beek, Myrna and Dave Taylor, Debbie and Brent Amy, and Kevin Brooks; one daughter-in-law, Connie Brooks; 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank and George; two sisters, Dorothy and Della; five sisters-in-law, Marie, Helen, Margaret, Doris, and Bertha; and one brother-in-law, Victor. Alva was predeceased by her husband, Art; grandson, Bradley; three brothers, Raymond, Harvey, and Clifford; and one sister, Doreen. The Funeral Service for Alva was conducted from the Lloydminster Gospel Fellowship Church, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Lyle Berg officiating. The eulogy was given by Melinda Griffith. The hymns sung, "Lord I'm Coming Home" and "How Great Thou Art" were accompanied by organist, Marea French. The Honorary Pallbearers were all the Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. The Active Pallbearers were: Devon Taylor, Rick Harper, Ryan Beek, Danton Brooks, Steve Chenard and Jeff Sibbald. Interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. The reception was held in the Lloydminster Gospel Fellowship following the Interment. Donations in memory of Alva may be made to the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family of the late Alva Brooks would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their prayers, cards, phone calls, food, flowers and donations. Thanks to the Ambulance Attendants, Dr. Kostic, Dr. Sayeed, and the third floor and palliative care nurses for the wonderful care you gave our mother. Your kind words and support will never be forgotten. Thank you to Pastor Lyle Berg for doing the service and the Lloyd Gospel Fellowship ladies for the luncheon. A special thank you to Melinda Griffith for the beautiful eulogy, as well as to the pallbearers.
