Obituary of Evon Murray
Please share a memory of Evon to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Evon Marie Murray passed away at the Foothills Hospital, Calgary, Alberta on Thursday, July 10, 2014 at the age of 57 years.
Evon was born March 18th, 1957 to Nick and Mary Bochon. In 1961 her brother Tony was born.
Evon grew up in Elk Point, Alberta. Where she enjoyed such things as gymkhana, being a majorette and just hanging out with her friends. In 1976 she was crowned carnival queen winner, by a large margin.
In 1975 at a party at Whitney Lake, Evon met Jamie who she decided to call Jim. In 1978, they were married.
In 1981 they gave birth to their first born, Kirk Murray, then in 1984, they gave birth to their first daughter, Lacey Murray. In 1987, they completed there family with twins, Carmen and Clint Murray.
As they established their family and their roots, on the family farm in Marwayne, Alberta. Evon created some of her most cherished memories.
When her kids were young, she was a stay at home mom, spending all her time with her family. As well as taking care of her family she would tend to her flower beds, yard and garden. Which gave her great joy and pride. Every summer she could be caught in the kitchen caning the fruits and berries from around the farm, creating relish, pickling and making an array of different jams. She always loved the summer with the fresh vegetables, green grass and blooming flowers.
She looked forward to the annual summer vacations with the family, but later became very fond of their Hot Holidays with great friends, South of the border.
She loved cooking her Sunday Supper's, which would bring all her kids, back under one roof again. Every Sunday was an elaborate meal, whether the house was full or empty, the meal was there, just in case.
She really enjoyed visiting friends, family and neighbours, and absolutely loved to play cards with them all.
Evon loved her husband, her children and her family with all her heart and maybe even a bit more at times. Nothing compared to her grandchildren, Natalie Murray (8) and Paisley Belliveau ( 6 months) they were Evon's greatest gem.
Predeceased by her parents Nick & Mary Bochon. Survived by husband Jamie, Children Kirk (Krista), Lacey (Dylan), Carmen (Kyle) and Clint. Grandchildren Natalie & Paisley, brother Tony and his wife Myra. Many Nieces, Nephews and cousins.
Donations in memory of Evon may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society of to a Charity of the Donor's Choice.
