On Saturday, September 2, 2006, Peter Walter Tarapacki, surrounded by his loving family, passed away peacefully at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the age of 75 years. Walter is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 47 years, Isabelle; four children: Wendy and her husband Morris Nycholat of White Fox, Michael Tarapacki and his wife Rhonda of Edmonton, Lori and her husband Melvin Best of Grande Prairie, Shona and her husband Kirk Dobrowolski of Okotoks; nine grandchildren: Jeffrey, Lindsay, Joshua, Tiona, Jordan, Justin, Matthew, Kenton and Carter; two sisters: Betty and her husband Bob Robertson of Vancouver, Mary and her husband Jack McDonald of Penticton as well as numerous other relatives. Walter was born on August 30, 1931 in North Battleford, Saskatchewan. He moved to Lloydminster in 1945 and began farming on his own in 1963. His passion of farming kept him working hard for the last 43 years. He was known as a “farmer’s farmer!” Walter not only worked hard, he also spent time enjoying life with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by all - we love you husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Friend. The memorial service for Walter was conducted from the Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Thursday, September 7, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Harold Martin officiating. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Walter’s life. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. Card of Thanks The family of Walter Tarapacki would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of the Coronary Care Unit at the Royal University Hospital in Saskatoon, the numerous friends and relatives for their heartfelt words and generous gifts of cards, flowers, food and donations, the “Harvest Crew” for their generous support in our time of need and McCaw Funeral Service for their professional and compassionate administration of the funeral arrangements.
