Active pallbearers were: Ferlin Burgess, Perry McCullough, Vernon Tomkins, Morris Parks, Clinton McCullough and Jonathon Pope. Interment followed in the Fairholme Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster and Turtleford administered the funeral arrangements. Albert Roger McCullough was born in Edam, November 12, 1943 to Alexander and Thalia McCullough. He was raised on the family farm south of Fairholme and took his schooling at Palmerston School. Albert is survived by his two loving sons, Rodney and Allan, Sisters, Joyce, Iris (Mike), Carolina (Don), Brothers, George (Patricia), Gilbert (Betty), and Robert, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Albert worked for neighbours such as Joe Ozemlowski, Otto Lingel, John Ozemlowski, Alex Boyko and Bob Bourke and farmed with his dad and his brother Keith. He spent some time working for the Town of Unity and driving truck for Dmytryshyn’s of Glaslyn. He eventually ended at L&M Wood Products where he worked until his retirement at the age of 60. Albert spent part of the summer of 2005 driving semi up the Alaska Highway to the Yukon Territory. He helped Bob Pylypow out also for the last couple of years on his farm. He was currently working for the R.M. of Parkdale running their tractor and mower. Albert was a humble, quiet person, a devoted father, brother, uncle, great uncle, who was loved and admired by all who knew him. He loved the little children. He would pick on them, tickle them and get them all going – and they always came back for more! He was a car man. He took great pride in all his vehicles and nobody had a cleaner car than Albert! He was an ardent potato grower. They were always bigger than the neighbors were. He mastered the art of cooking, baking, making jelly, etc. He would phone his sister Carolina for instructions, then he would just do it. You never saw his grass not cut and there was always some time for his friends, and a cup of coffee or a game of cards. Albert loved to tinker. He could fix or remodel just about anything. He loved to restore old tractors, engines, chain saws and make them work. He would give them life again. He loved to work with wood, making little tables, pictures frames, bird houses and trinkets. Albert was the type of person who would give a hand to anyone. One of his neighbors commented that if they needed help with some project he would take the time to help and then be on his merry way. He was the type of person that would follow you home in a snow storm to make sure you arrived safely, or else come and rescue you if you got stuck in the snowstorm. In the early 1950’s, our Dad built a set of sleighs, a very large set of sleighs. They were used for many years until power came in and they got put aside to weather. After Dad passed away, Albert decided to restore Dads sleighs. He spent many hours with his hands. It wasn’t an easy task. He built a trailer to put the sleighs on and every spring he would take them to the museum here in Glaslyn. Every fall those bright yellow sleighs would go back to his garage at the old farm. Today these sleighs are at the front of the hall for you to admire. His last project was helping his brother in law Don wire the lights on their new sun deck. To Rodney and Allan, you were your Dads’ world. He loved you both so very much. He left behind a great Legacy for you. He didn’t leave it in a form of money or a lot of worldly possessions, but he left you the Wisdom, the Knowledge, and the strength to carry on, and make it on your own. Remember what he has taught you and remember that you have lots of family and friends who love you very much and that you can lean on for guidance. Albert will be greatly missed and always remembered. Card of Thanks The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during our tragic loss.
