Obituary: Calvin (Cal) John Coolidge of Lashburn, SK passed away on August 14, 2006 at the age of 72 in Maidstone, SK. Cal was born in Lashburn, SK on December 8, 1933 to Harold and Bernice Coolidge. He was the oldest son, of four siblings - one sister and two brothers. He was predeceased by his youngest brother - Clifford in 1962 and his parents, Harold in 1989 and Bernice in 2001. Cal owned and operated Cal’s Autobody and farmed his entire life in the Lashburn area. Cal made friends easily - he could talk to anybody. His “let’s roll-up our sleeves and get this job done” approach and generous, good-natures spirit will be deeply missed by his community and family. Cal leaves to mourn his passing his loving family: wife; Faye Coolidge of Lashburn; two daughters: Tracie (Todd) Noble of Calgary, AB; Christine (Jim) Funk of Saskatoon, SK; one granddaughter: Katie Noble of Calgary; one sisters: Evelyn (Ralph) Olsen of Lethbridge, AB; one brother: Jim (Ann) Coolidge of Lashburn; two aunts: Dorothy Coolidge of Lloydminster, AB and Clara Harris of Marshall, SK; his mother-in-law Mabel Macnab of Saskatoon and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Friday, August 18, 2006 at the Lashburn Community Hall with Reverend Ted Haas officiating. The eulogy was given by close family friends, Bonnie and Grant Holtby. Son-in-law Jim Funk gave a tribute to Cal. The hymns sung were “In The Garden,” and “Amazing Grace,” accompanied by Lorna Chappell on the piano with the Lashburn Community Choir in attendance. The honorary pallbearers were “All Cal’s Friend’s.” The urnbearer was Katie Noble. A private family interment followed at the Lashburn Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Lashburn Sportsplex in memory of Cal.
