BIOGRAPHY BORN ~ Jacob “Jake” Norman Born passed away in Lloydminster, Alberta on Saturday, September 17, 2011 at the age of 79 years. Jake will be sadly missed by his wife Arlene, his children: Kathy and Brent Smithson; Barbra Beynon and partner Pat, Janet Scott and partner Ethan, Robert Born and his fiancé Lynda and Judy Born and her partner Ted; the grandchildren: Jaime Smithson and his wife Chrissy, Brendon Smithson and his wife Tara, Robyn Smithson and her partner Chad, Mike Born and his fiancé April, Krista St. Louis, Paul St. Louis, Jake Scott, Stefani Scott, Adrian Born, Taylor Born, Sydney Born; the great-grandchildren: Gracey and Conner Smithson, Layla Smithson, Devon and Dillon Born, Ryder Wass; brothers and sisters: Abe and Barb Born, John and Eileen Born, Gladys Jack, Pete and Betty Born, Tom and Gwen Born, Dennis and Fern Born, Jim and Connie Born, Doris Drysdale, Melvin and Kay Born, Ken and Pearl Born, Earl and Brenda Born; brothers and sisters-in-law: Helen and Jim McMaster, Patricia Ducie, John and Cheryl Chyzyk, Jim and Dorothy Chyzyk, Stanley and Diane Weber and Brian Carr as well as numerous other relatives. Jake was predeceased by: his parents: George and Elizabeth Born, sister Betty Hodgins; brothers: Donnie Born and Bill Born; brother-in-law Bob Jack; sisters-in-law: Evelyn Born, Doreen Waldner, Mary Carr and Margaret Weber and granddaughter Aaryn Scott. The funeral service for Jake was conducted from the McCaw Funeral Chapel, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. with Joyce Carson officiating. A eulogy was given by Kathy Smithson and Rob Born. Special music played was “I Walk The Line” by Johnny Cash, “Help Me Make It Through The Night” by Charlie Pride, and “On The Road Again” by Willie Nelson. The urnbearer was Jaime Smithson. The honorary pallbearers were “Anyone That Jake Has Ever Teased”. The Legion Honor Guard and the Lions Club were in attendance. Interment was held at the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. CARD OF THANKS Jake’s family would like to thank Dr. Sayeed, the ambulance attendants, the Lloydminster hospital staff and the RCMP for their care and compassion. Thank you to Joyce Carson for ministering such a wonderful service. A special thank you to the Lions Club of Lloydminster and the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 for the honor guard in Jake’s memory. Thank you to Dave McCaw and the staff at McCaw Funeral Service for your professionalism and compassion in our time of need.
