STEVENSON: Mrs. Clara C. Stevenson of Maidstone, Saskatchewan passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital on Saturday, July 22, 2006 at the age of 96 years. Clara was born to Henry and Mabel Chrisopherson in Jamestown, North Dakota on March 8, 1910. She was married to Russell Stevenson on November 8, 1930. In early years Clara operated a boarding house in Maidstone, she enjoyed sewing until the later years. She enjoyed getting together with friends for tea everyday. Clara was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary. Clara leaves to mourn her passing: one son, Marvin of Edmonton, Alberta; one daughter, Joyce of Deleau, Manitoba; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Swanie Christopherson of Vancouver, BC; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Russell of 57 years; her parents and her brother, Lavern. A memorial service was on Friday, July 28, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Maidstone United Church. The hymns were “In The Garden,” Just A Closer Walk With Thee,” and “In The Bulb There Is A Flower.” The organist for the funeral service was Verda Wildeman. The Royal Canadian Legion Auxiliary were honor guard, honorary pallbearers were all our dear friends who attended the service. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta and Turtleford, Saskatchewan administered the funeral arrangements.
