Henry Joseph Callbeck passed away in the Turtleford Health Complex on July 22, 2006 at the age of 77. He leaves to mourn his wife Doreen, of 57 years; his six children: Doug (Betty), Duane (JoAnn), Lynn, Keith (Sue), Leigh (Mike) Fortier and Kathy (David ) Conacher; and eleven grandchildren. Henry was a farmer all his life in the Turtleford area until his retirement. He then took up carpentering which can be seen in the Callbeck home six miles west of Turtleford on Highway 303. Henry will be fondly remembered by the giving of his woodwork to his children and grandchildren. Henry was born in the Stowlea District of St. Walburg, SK. Born to Harold and Raymonde Callbeck on December 8, 1928, second son of this marriage, his older brother Bill resides in Watrous, SK; a half sister Rose Ringrose; Jake Chwelos, Laura Sweet, Jack Callbeck, Lorne Callbeck, Margaret Holmes. He was predeceased by his half sister Nellie, his mother Raymonde Chwelos and her husband Dan, his father Harold and his wife Martha, grandmother Charrlotte Koulinski, formerly of the Turtleford area. In 1947, Henry met his wife to be. In 1949 they were married. Henry was a good mechanic. He always showed his interest in Ford vehicles and knew how to service them until the computerized trucks and cars of today came in. The memorial service for Henry was held in the Community Centre in Turtleford, Sk on Tuesday, July 25th at 2:00 P.M. Reverend Don Skinner conducted the service. Eulogy were read by Betty Callbeck and Duane and JoAnn Callbeck. The organist was Bev Meikle; soloist was Eileen Seabrook. Special music was performed by Marg Uhlig and Reverend Skinner: “One Day at a Time”. Pallbearers were Alan Chisholm, Brian Quinn, George and Albert Darragh, Murray Knight, and Edward Knowlton. Henry was laid to rest in the Turtleford Cemetery. Card of Thanks Our card of thanks to Dr. Gohic, Dr. Mulder and all the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit for all the kindness Henry and the rest of us received. To Reverend Don Skinner for the kindness you showed on your visits. We are very grateful for the active pallbearers, family and friends, for the phone calls, cards and gifts of food. A special thanks to the ladies who put on a wonderful lunch. A special thank you to Dale and Dave McCaw and staff for your kindness and understanding. The love and support we received from our family and friends will never be forgotten. Thank you to the organist, Bev Meikle; soloist, Eileen Seabrook and to Marg Uhlig and Reverend Skinner for the special music. Special thanks to all who were involved.
