Obituary of Howard Lawrence

Please share a memory of Howard to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Howard is survived by: his loving wife Fern: two sons: Edwin and his wife Lorna of Bruderheim, AB; Duane and his wife Debbie of Sherwood Park, AB; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren: Wesley, Dominic, Jeremy and Morgan; one sister Sybil Stoddard and her family: Charles and Joan and Families and Charlotte and Family, as well as numerous other relatives. In loving memory of Howard Lawrence, formerly of Lloydminster and Paradise Valley, who passed away in the Fort Saskatchewan hospital on June 15, 2006 at the age of 80 years with his family by his bedside. The Funeral service was held in the Grace United Church at Lloydminster on June 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Harold Martin officiating. Dennis and Ellen Teasdale of Paradise Valley gave the eulogy. Ellen and Dennis brought back good old memories, saying Howard was a real good neighbor and friend. Whenever snowplowing had to be done or fixing of the telephone lines, Howard was always there with a big smile ready to do whatever had to be done. He enjoyed his family as well as dancing, curling, fishing and camping. Howard and Fern also did a lot of traveling. Shawn and Dayna Lawrence gave a tribute to granddad on behalf of the grandchildren. They remembered fishing and camping with granddad and how proud he was of their accomplishments, graduation, careers etc. and he was very proud to be great granddad. Here is a poem they thought described granddad. A grandpa holds a place of honor In his family’s heart His wisdom and experience and love all play a part In helping form our past and shaping who we are today In keeping us together in a very special way Elaine Allen sang “Amazing Grace” and the hymn “Blowing in the Wind”. The song “Grandpa Tell Me about the Good Old Days” was played and Margaret Venance played “After All These Years” on the piano. Interment was at the Lloydminster City Cemetery. We’d like to thank everyone for the phone calls, cards, flowers and baking. Fern Edwin & Lorna & Family Duane & Debbie & Family
