B I O G R A P H Y WHARTON: Florence Evelyn Wharton (Powers) passed away on Saturday, May 6, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Florence is survived by: five children: Alan (Norma) Powers of Marsden, Myron (Nancy) Powers of New Sarepta, AB; Harvey (Leanne) Powers of Edmonton, AB; Marlene (Stephen) Snyder of Edmonton, AB; Norma (Don) Walker of Senlac, SK; ten grandchildren: Garnet (Rose), Brent, Shannon (Duncan), Robert (Lisa), Kari (Jason), Bryce, Joshua, Jayson, Carson and Molly; ten great grandchildren: Mark, Sarah, Conrad, Kate, Elizabeth, Hannah, Graeme, Jordan, Damon and Danica; numerous sisters & brothers-in-law and other relatives. Florence was predeceased by her 1st husband Arthur Powers, her 2nd husband John Wharton, her daughter Edna Mae Powers and her brother Donald Wilson. The funeral service for Florence was conducted from the Manitou Evanglical Free Church, Neilburg, Saskatchewan on Thursday, May 11, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Fred Sirett officiating. A eulogy was given by Harvey Powers. A solo “Take My Hand Precious Lord,” was sung by Joseph Schwaiger. The hymn sung was “Because He Lives,” accompanied on the piano by Barry Peters. A graveside service was held at the Normanna Cemetery before the funeral. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The family of the late Florence Wharton (Powers) extend a sincere thank-you for the expressions of sympathy at her passing. Thank-you also to the Dr. Hemstock staff and the ambulance attendants. Also thank-you to Pastor Fred Sirett, the Manitou Evangelical Free Church Ladies for serving lunch and to McCaw Funeral Service for their assistance. The Powers Family Donations in memory of Florence Wharton may be made to the Gideon Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
