BIOGRAPHY Douglas William Adamson passed away on Monday, October 31, 2005 at the age of 66 years. The funeral services for Douglas Adamson was conducted from the Tulliby Lake Hall, Alberta on Saturday, November 5, 2005 with Reverend Chuck Mortimer officiating. The tribute was given by his sister Deanna Reed, and his Cousin Ernie Marshall. Soloist Julie Reed performed “Redeemer” and “I Sure Miss You”. Special Violin Music “Pachabel” was played by Ely and Caleb Eidsvik. The hymn sung was “Amazing Grace” accompanied on the organ by Barbara Brind. Honorary Pallbearers were: David Kipps, Brent Kipps, Allen Reed, James Reed, Donald Evans, Dean Evans, Dale Evans, Dwight Evans, Kevin Evans, Ken Larson, and Danny Hozack. Active Pallbearers were: Harry Gibbard, Wayne Larson, Eddie Parke, Kirk Forbes, Don Rowe, and Allan Belsheim. Interment followed in the Marwayne Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. of Lloydminster administered the funeral service. Eulogy Douglas William Adamson passed away suddenly at his farm in the Tulliby Lake District on his 66th birthday, October 31, 2005. He leaves to mourn his loving wife, Roxana, his sons, Christopher and Matthew, his sisters, Edith (John) Kipps of Tulliby Lake, Norma (Vic) Evans of Rocky Mountain House, Deanna (Lyle) Reed of Lacombe, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Douglas was the only son of William and Jean Adamson. He was born in Elk Point and was raised on the family farm. He took his grade schooling at St. Margaret’s and Tulliby Lake Schools and graduated from Kitscoty High School. After spending three years with the Royal Bank of Canada, he returned to take over the family farm. Through the years he was active in the community as a member of the Elk Point Hospital Board, Vice President of the Tulliby Lake and Onion Lake History Book Project and Secretary of the Burke Lake Stockman's Association. He was a weather observer on his farm and recorded temperatures for the Federal Government for more than twenty years. He will be remembered as a good neighbour who had a keen interest in many things, his family, community, sports, agriculture, and the larger world about us. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Lloydminster Minor Baseball Association, the Tulliby Lake Agricultural Society or the charity of your choice. Card of Thanks The family of Doug Adamson would like to thank everyone who attended the funeral, sent flowers, gifts, cards, food, made donations, phone calls and visited our home. Thank you to the students and staff of the Lloydminster Comprehensive High School and the Tulliby Lake School for their caring and support. Thank you with all our heart to the groups, organizations, institutions and businesses that Douglas was involved with. Thank you especially to family and friends in Costa Rica and here for the prayers, and to all the neighbors for helping us with the cattle and your guidance and emotional support at this difficult time. A special thanks to Ernie for the eulogy and his constant support to the family, to Deanna and Lyle, Norma and Vic, Edith and Johnny and families for the love and caring you have given us. Thank you to Chuck Mortimer, the pallbearers, Barbara Brind, Julie Reed, Ely and Caleb Eidsvik and Sandra Lawson for helping make a beautiful service of remembrance. Also thanks to McCaw Funeral Service for administering the funeral arrangements.
