B I O G R A P H Y BRAITHWAITE: Elsie Gertrude Braithwaite passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital on Monday, September 12, 2005 at the age of 85 years. Elsie is survived by: three children: Donnabelle and her husband Ken King of Lloydminster; Bryan Braithwaite of Kingman, Arizona, United States; Judy and her husband Nick Plandowski of Lloydminster; ten grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; one sister Ruth Bradley of Dunsford, Ontario; two sisters-in-law Josephine Gray of Greenlawn, Alberta and Eleanora Gray also of Greenlawn, Alberta; two brothers-in-law Ralph Braithwaite of White Rock, British Columbia and Milton Braithwaite of Vancouver, British Columbia as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Robert Frederick Braithwaite in 1990. The funeral service for Elsie was conducted from the Grace United Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Friday, September 16, 2005 at 10:30 A.M. with Pastor Anne Laird officiating. The eulogy was given by Elsie’s nephew Ernie Braithwaite. A tribute from the grandchildren was given by granddaughter Nicole Halyk. The hymns sung were “In The Garden,” and “How Great Thou Art,” accompanied on the organ by Irene Knowlson. The Grace United Church Choir sang “Beautiful Garden of Prayer.” Honorary pallbearers were: Bart King, Gray King, Cameron King, Dana LeBouthillier, Kara Braithwaite, Cody Braithwaite, Bradley Braithwaite, Jordan Braithwaite, Darryl Plandowski and Nicole Halyk. A Royal Purple Honor Guard was held. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks Thanks to the doctors, nurses and hospital staff on the 3rd floor, the ambulance attendants and staff at the Dr. Hemstock residence. Thank you to Pastor Anne Laird, organist Irene Knowlson and the Grace United Church Choir for the beautiful service. Thank you to Ernie and Nicole for the outstanding insight into Mom’s life. Thank you to the Royal Purple for their participation in the service and for the lunch. Thank you to everyone for the cards, flowers and donatinos and to all our friends for the phone calls, visits and food brought to the house. Thank you to Glenn McCaw and the staff of McCaw Funeral Service for their assistance. The Family of Elsie Braithwaite Donations in memory of Elsie may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation.
