B I O G R A P H Y STEFFLER: David Henry "Dave" Steffler passed away in the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Center, Lloydminster, Alberta on Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at the age of 80 years. Dave is survived by: four children: Glen Steffler and his wife Irma of Redvers, SK; Deryle Steffler and his wife Janice of Rocky Mountain House, AB; Linda and her husband Raymond Lever of Vegreville, AB; Wayne Steffler of Paradise Valley, Alberta; three grandchildren: Cindy Lever of Calgary; Clint Lever and his girlfriend Tara of Edmonton; Kim Steffler also of Edmonton; three sisters and one brother. The funeral service for Dave was conducted from the Paradise Valley Community Hall on Monday, July 25, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Gregg Peterson officiating. A tribute was given by Cindy Lever. Leader of songs was Carol Adams. A duet "The Old Rugged Cross," was sung by Carol Adams and Doreen Klatt. Hymns sung were "There'll Be Peace In The Valley," "Just A Closer Walk With Thee," and "Amazing Grace," accompanied on the organ by Sandra Babcock. Honorary pallbearers were: Helen and Oliver Nielsen, Marie Wells, Raymond (Butch) Lever, Myron Sunderland, Marilyn Bouck as well as all those who shared in Dave's life. Active pallbearers were: Art Wells, Clint Lever, Bob Nielsen, Ian Parsons, Dale Sunderland and Delmer Sunderland. Interment followed in the Paradise Valley Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The Steffler family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and appreciation to the following: Dr. Jill Lakins; the nursing staff of the Dr. Cooke; Pastor Gregg Peterson for your comforting words and support in our time of sorrow and for conducting such an inspirational service. Also thanks for all your visits with Dad over the past three years; organist Sandra Babcock; Carol Adams and Doreen Klatt for the beautiful duet; Carol Adams for leading the singing; the pallbearers both active and honorary; the Paradise Valley U.C.W. for preparing the lunch; Dave McCaw and staff for your kindness and caring guidance. Special thank you to Cindy Lever for showing such strength and once again delivering an “outstanding, touching” tribute to Grandpa - you truly did him “Proud;” Art and Marie Wells for your ever so “Faithful” weekly visits to Dad; Ian and Marilyn Parsons for always offering their help; to Marilyn Bouck for all your loving care given to Dad and the family while you did Home Care. Thank you to our family and friends who have supported us with prayer, food, phone calls, flowers, cards, memorial contributions and to all who attended Dad’s funeral. Also special thanks to all who took the time to visit Dad while he was a resident at the Dr. Cooke. From our family to all of you we sincerely say “Thank you.” We shall treasure your support and kindness in our hearts “Forever.” In lieu of thank you cards the family will be making a donation to the Heart & Stroke Fund. Glen & Irma Deryle, Janice & Kim Linda, Raymond, Cindy, Clint & Tara Wayne Donations in memory of Dave may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or to a charity of the donor's choice.
