After 2 days of thinking what I can share with you all about Uncle Donald, I have come realize that I didn't know him as well as I would have like. I do remember as a youngster being very jealous of certain members of the family that got to see not only Uncle Donald but my Grandmother almost everyday. Looking at Uncle Donald picture in the memorial here reminds me of how much he looks like my father who we lost in 1986, in fact I remember making that mistake once and waking him up thinking he was my dad. I also owe his a debt of graditude for setting a young impressional hockey fan straight at an early age. When I was 8, I had made a bet with him on the outcome of the Stanley Cup finals. When the Montreal Canadiens won the cup that year I was more then happy to collect my dollar on the first chance that I had. Well Uncle Donald was more then willing to pay his debt but refused to hand me the dollar, instead dropping it to the floor and insisting that any fan of the habs would have to bend down and retrieve their winnings. To this day I despise the Canadiens. What I do remember the most though is 2 yrs after my fathers passing , Uncle Donald and 3 others members of the family made the long trek from out west to be with my family on the very special occasion of my sisters wedding. This meant a lot to my mother and of course Patty. Geordie and family as well as the rest of the Jacobsen clan our thoughts and prayers are with at this very difficult time Brian Jacobsen & Diane Perry
