The funeral service for Pat was conducted from the Marwayne Community Hall on Monday, May 2, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Aldrich officiating. A eulogy was given by Effie Andersen. Yvette Barnett sang two solos "Amazing Grace," and "If You Could See Me Now." Hymns sung were "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Nearer My God To Thee," accompanied on the organ by Joanne Horton. Honorary pallbearers were the Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Active pallbearers were: Doug Bullock, Daryl Bullock, Rick Miller, Marvin Killam, Don Cole and Jack Leighton. Interment followed in the Marwayne Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Pat was born at Streamstown in 1920 to Harry and Daisy Bullock. Pat was very active in most sports events while going to school in Streamstown. In 1938 Pat and Lloyd Gawley were married. They had three daughters, Elaine, Barbara, and Donna. Over the years their family increased in size. They now have three sons-in-law, nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. For two years Pat and Lloyd lived at Czar, Alberta then moved to North Park. Pat was always trying to make an extra dollar. In the 50's there was an oil crew working at Tulliby Lake. She fed these men three meals a day for two months. She also had chickens, geese and turkeys and sold cream. The one thing Pat didn’t like to do was milk those cows. In 1957 they moved to Marwayne. Pat immediately went to work in Lil’s cafe. Over the years she worked at the Post Office and at the Hotel in Marwayne. She loved to curl and had a lot of fun with her friends bonspeiling. In 1967 Pat joined the Marwayne Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She attended meetings regularly and was a good worker in any of the projects they had. Pat was a homemaker and she was a good cook. She sewed for her family and herself and she loved to knit and always seemed to have something on the go. Pat loved to travel and at every opportunity she was the first one in the car. She hated gardening but loved flowers and plants. Pat enjoyed excellent health until 2001. She found it very difficult when she could no longer see to knit or read a recipe to do baking. The last two years Pat was in the Dr. Cooke Centre. We all have special memories of Pat. She will be missed but not forgotten.
