Obituary of Jessie Metherell

B I O G R A P H Y METHERELL: Jessie Mima Metherell of Maidstone, Saskatchewan passed away in The Pine Island Lodge, Maidstone on Sunday, February 13, 2005 at the age of 88 years. She was born on July 6, 1916 in Lashburn, Saskatchewan. Jessie is survived by four children: Arlene (Ron) Solomon of Burnaby, BC; Don (Gale) Metherell of Vanscoy, SK; Joan (Ray) Herbert of Neilburg, SK; Jean (Duncan) MacMillan of Vermilion, AB; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters-in-law: Vivien Metherell of Lashburn and Peggy Mcrae of Fort Langley, BC. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1978. The funeral service was conducted from The All Saints Anglican Church, Lashburn on Friday, February 18, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Reverend Terry Wiebe officiating. The hymns sung were “In The Garden” and “Beyond The Sunset” accompanied on the organ by Lorna Chappell. The eulogy was given by Jim Metherell. The Honorary Pallbearers were: All those who shared in Jessie’s life. The Active Pallbearers were: Lee MacMillan, Tyler Herbert, Murray Metherell, Cliff Metherell, Craig Shand and Glen Metherell. Interment followed in The Lashburn Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd. of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks Thanks to Reverend Terry Wiebe, organist Lorna Chappell, the community choir, ACW for providing lunch and to Dale and Dave McCaw of McCaw Funeral Service. We'd like to express our appreciation for the excellent care and concern shown by the staff at Pine Island Lodge and to all those who visited Mom over the past few years. We also wish to thank those who sent cards, flowers and made donations in Mom's memory. The Family Donations in memory of Jessie may be made to the Parkinson's Society or to the Pine Island Lodge Building Fund.
