Eulogy given by Tammy Theisen I am very honored to be standing here today to pay a tribute to a very special lady in my life. I met Bernadette 14 years ago when Jason took me home to meet his parents. I never realized that day was the beginning of a beautiful relationship I will cherish forever. I believe that every person in my life will teach me certain things and now I will share some of these with you. Bernadette taught me that your family is of the utmost importance. I learned this by observing her as a wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandma and aunt. The sparkle in her eyes when she looked at Pete showed the strength and love their marriage had. No matter what life challenged them with, they faced it standing side by side with love, care, and commitment always coming out on top with something positive arising from it. Bernadette was an amazing mother to three incredible men, whom had unconditional love from their mother. She provided them with a mother’s trust, they could share anything with her and know there was never any judgment only support for whatever they journeyed to next. Bernie encouraged their every dream, letting them know they could accomplish anything they worked at. She showed the importance of fun, by adventuring with them at various activities that will never be forgotten. Bernie taught me how important it is to have laughter and fun in your life. NO one will ever forget the endless hours of games of hand and foot or Kaiser. There was not a day went by without playing or receiving a prank of some kind. Whoever said “laughter is the best medicine” most definitely was right. There is no medicine in this world that could have helped her through her experience like laughter did right to the end. The one lesson that I will cherish greatly is her faith. GOD was the foundation of her life. I watched her pray in good times and in bad. I saw amazing strength come to her from that. She taught us that we were never alone so long as we had faith. She felt very safe knowing where she would journey to next. Bernie gave us all, every bit of love she could, she lived by example providing us with the tools to be honest, non-judging, compassionate, fun loving and respectful. “Life is what you make of it, you always have the choice to make it good” she would say. You will be sadly missed as we have been blessed to have you as a wife, mother, grandma, daughter, sister and aunt. We love you Mom. She loved angels, I found this and would like to share it with you: The Gift of an Angel by Your Side May you always have an angel by your side Watching out for you in all the things you do Reminding you to believe in brighter days Finding ways for your wishes and dreams to come true Giving you hope that is as certain as the sun Giving you the strength of serenity as your guide May you always have love, comfort and courage May you always have an angel by your side Someone there to catch you if you fall Encouraging your dreams Inspiring your happiness Holding your hand and helping you through it all In all of our days, our lives are always changing Tears may come along as well as smiles Along the roads you travel, may the miles be a thousand times more lovely than lonely May they give you gifts that never end May you have rainbows after every storm May you have hopes to keep you safe and warm And may you always have an angel by your side. Card of Thanks Sincere gratitude to Dr. Thomas Kerlis, Lashburn Home Care Staff, Lloydminster Home Care staff, Lloydminster Ambulance Attendants and the third floor nurses at the Lloydminster Hospital for the incredible compassion, support and understanding provided to Bernadette and family.
