B I O G R A P H Y REHMAN: Herman John Rehman passed away in the Lloydminster Hospital on Monday, December 27, 2004 at the age of 68 years. Herman was born near Macklin, Saskatchewan, on March 14, 1936. After high school, Herman entered St. Norbert’s Novitiate and was ordained a Roman Catholic Priest on December 21, 1961. After serving with the Oblates, his order of priests, and a period of discernment, Herman received his dispensation from the priesthood in 1972 and returned to secular life. After some time, he met and later married Ann Gail Ewan on July 24, 1976. They joyfully celebrated the birth of their son Christopher Shawn on December 18, 1983. Herman was an avid sports fan, especially of hockey, and enjoyed playing golf, bowling and curling. Herman also loved music, had a great sense of humour, and was active in the parish community of St. Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church. Herman is survived by: his loving wife Ann; one son Christopher of Edmonton; one brother Carl Rehman and his wife Irma of Macklin; five sisters: Sister Anne Marie Rehman of Prelate, SK; Elsie and her husband Ernie Locher of Hayter, AB; Hilda and her husband Mike Sliva of Saskatoon; Hertha and her husband Frank Broschak of Lethbridge, AB; Margaret and her husband Murray McNarland of Garson, MB as well as numerous other relatives. A prayer service for Herman was conducted from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, on Thursday, December 30, 2004 at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial for Herman was conducted from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, on Friday, December 31, 2004 at 10:30 A.M. with Father Adam Lech officiating. A eulogy was given by Mark Rehman. A solo "On Eagle's Wings," was sung by Melody Kuhn. Marlene Risling was leader of songs accompanied on the organ by Donna Weston and by Mel Risling on trumpet. An honorguard was formed by the Knights of Columbus. Active pallbearers were: Bob Rehman, Mark Rehman, Paul Soron, Steve Locher, Bill Locher and Tim Herle. Interment followed in the Lloydminster City Cemetery. Donations in remembrance of Herman Rehman can be given to the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. Donations may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a Charity of the Donors Choice.
