B I O G R A P H Y SCHNEIDER: James Paul Schneider passed away in the Pine Island Lodge, Maidstone, Saskatchewan on Thursday, October 26, 2004 at the age of 91. The funeral service for Paul Schneider was conducted from the Lashburn Community Hall on Monday, November 1, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Ean Kasper officiating. A eulogy was given by Wendy Schneider. Hymns sung were “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “Church In The Wildwood,” accompanied on the organ by Lorna Chappell. Honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Paul’s life. Active pallbearers were: John Donovan, Paul Donovan, Don Parkyn, Steve Gordon, John Brick and Norman Churn. Interment followed in the Lashburn Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster administered the funeral arrangements. January 25, 1913 - October 26, 2004 Paul passed away comfortably in the presence of family members at Pine Island Lodge in Maidstone, SK. Paul was the youngest child of Katie (Katherine Wolf) and Johnathon Benjamin Schneider. Paul was predeceased by his parents and siblings Mary, Clarence and Sebastian. Paul was born in Lemon, Perkins County, North Dakota and later moved to Beaver Dam, AB in 1921. This is where Paul met and married Alexandria Schneider, they married September 22, 1936. In 1944 Paul and Alexandria settled on a farm near Lashburn where they have farmed for the past 57 years. Paul and Alexandria raised ten children between 1937 and 1956. Paul has been a grandfather to 29 children and a great grandfather to another 29 children. Together tragedy was met with when they were predeceased by two sons, James 1937 -1994 and Thomas 1947 - 2002. Paul is survived by his wife Alexandria (Luciuk) of sixty-eight years. Their son Frank, wife Darleen (Flaman) grandchildren Curtis (Chantelle), Seena (Ron Begalke), Deena (Tony Savoignau) Cindy (Mark Mast); Son John (Lissi) grandchildren Donica Olsen, great grandchildren Tristan and Devonne, Joanne Olsen and great grandchild Tanner; Paul’s son Ray (Pat Larson) and granddaughters Stacy and Reagan (Kal Kuhn) great grandchildren Quinten, Brielle and Kayden; Paul’s son Bob (Debbie Tracksell) grandchildren Sabrina and Jason; Paul’s daughter Linda (Henry Savoie) grandchildren Laurie and Marla, Paul (Carla McCann) step-great grandchildren Alexandra and Joshua and great grandson Oliver; Paul’s son Phillip (Wendy Rettallack) and grandchildren Kim and Eric (Carla) and great grandchildren Claire, Avery, Katie; Paul’s daughter Lorraine (Brent Harris) grandchildren Mark and Christopher and great grandson Nathan; Paul’s daughter Laureene (Don Lowry) grandchildren Tenielle and Mathew. At age ninety one Paul’s body resigned but his memory will be with each of us ... always. Card of Thanks The families wish to thank Dr. Michael Howard-Tripp, the nursing staff and many acquaintences at Pine Island Lodge for all their care and kindness. Thanks to Reverend Ean Kasper. The organist Lorna Chappell and the choir for the voice to those lovely hymns. Special thanks to Wendy Schneider for the eulogy for her father-in-law. Thanks also for the lunch and those that served it. Also we appreciate the many cards, flowers and phone calls received. Special thanks to the pallbearers for making time to honour Paul Schneider on the journey to interment.
