BIOGRAPHY
WARMAN ~ Peter Warman passed away in the Vermilion Hospital on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
Pete was born in Poland on July 12, 1923 and immigrated to Canada in the spring of 1929 at the age of 5 with his parents, Harry and Fannie Warman, and two brothers, Andrew and Steve. They settled on the SW 1/4 of 26-50-2 W4th, north of Blackfoot where he resided until 2006 when his health started to fail and we had to move to Kitscoty.
Pete will be sadly missed by his wife Thelma of 56 years, daughter Karen Kuhmayer (Robert), son Lawrence, and daughter Laura Warman and husband Paul Wilson, five grandsons: David Kuhmayer (Natasha), Iain, Malcolm, Hamish and Graham Wilson, two great grandchildren: Mattheau and Sari Elizabeth Kuhmayer, sister Jessie Latimer (Don), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Pete was predeceased by his father Harry, mother Fannie and three brothers: Andy, Steve and Johnnie and one son-in-law Dwayne Norton.
The funeral service was conducted from the Kitscoty Community Church on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2:00 P.M. with Reverend Bob Aldrich officiating. The hymns sung were "How Great Thou Art" and "Bringing In The Sheaves" accompanied by the Kitscoty Choir and John Scott on the organ. The soloist, Colleen Hozack sang "We Have This Moment Today."
The eulogy was read by Miles Latimer. Laura and Lawrence read personal memories.
The pallbearers were his five grandsons: David Kuhmayer, Iain, Malcolm, Hamish and Graham Wilson, and friend Jerry Van Meter.
Interment will be held at a later date in the Lloydminster City Cemetery.
McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
CARD OF THANKS
Thank you Dave for coming out of semi-retirement for Pete, you finally got him. Thanks for the lovely service Reverend Bob; Miles the eulogy was very fitting. Laura and Lawrence your memories of Dad were very heart warming.
Thanks to our five grandsons for being pallbearers and Jerry thanks for filling in as one. Thanks to the community choir for singing at the funeral and John Scott for playing the organ. I know Saturday was a bad day for you all. Colleen your solo was heart warming. Thanks for catering the supper at the Blackfoot Hall. A very special thank you to the Kitscoty First Responders for their dedicated help when called upon no matter what time of day or night, the Lloydminster Ambulance attendants, all the Home Care Nurses for the last six years, you all allowed Pete to stay at home so much longer. Also, my two Respite workers who allowed me to get out of the house for awhile. Thanks Rene and Brant for being there when I needed help with Pete. I have very wonderful neighbors. The Doctors and Nurses at the Lloydminster Hospital and all the nursing staff and Doctors at the Vermilion Hospital on ward 300, your loving care helped to comfort Pete the last month and a half of Pete's life. I want to thank everybody that helped celebrate Pete's life. All the beautiful bouquets of flowers, cards, plants and the donations in lieu of flowers to the Kitscoty First Responders and the Diabetes Society.
Thank you for the lovely meat and cheese trays, buns, roasts, etc. that came to the house and the visits you made to the house. Our heartfelt thanks to a wonderful community.
