I just learned about and am shocked to hear of Mary's passing. Mary and I curled together at the Winfield Curling Club for many years. We had such fun together and I truly missed her when she moved away. My sincere and deepest sympathy.

Dear Joe, and all of Mary's family, Our hearts go out to each of you as you struggle to accept the sudden loss of your dear Mary. We know she touched many lives while she was with us. I for one have many fond memories of the time that Mary & I worked side-by-side, first at Avery & then at Neville Goss School. She may have been a "Shortie", but that NEVER stopped her from trying to do whatever she wanted or whatever she thought necessary!!! May your special memories of Mary keep her close to you forever, and in time give you peace. With sincere sympathy, Don & Doris Spence

I will always be so grateful for the time and effort Mary gave to our daughter way back in grades one and two. Such an awesome teacher and years later she would ask about our family. Heaven has gained a wonderful angel.

To the Batty-Chabot families; So sorry and shocked to hear of Mary's passing. She was always happy and had a sunshine smile. Loved to hear her reach those beautiful high notes when she was singing. The angels will have a wonderful addition to their choir.

I was saddened to hear of Mary's passing. My memories of her go back to our mutual teaching years. I remember when she was on staff at Avery School, and also at Neville Goss School where I was also on staff at the time. She was a consciencious teacher and loved her students. Mary was also a dedicated volunteer at the Canadian Cancer Society for many years. I knew we could always count on her to step up to bat whenever there was a job to be done. Please accept my sincere condolences in your loss. She will be missed.

To the Batty-Chabot family What a wonderful person she was. Mary had taught my son in Grade 1 in the old Avery School. Over the years I had seen her & we would talk. About a year ago I had seen her at the Jubilee Home singing with the Lloydminstrels. Again it was like visiting with an old friend. She always had a smile on her face, a twinkle in her eye, & laughter in her voice. Hold fast to the memories you have. You will be in my thoughts & prayers in the days ahead.

Our sympathy to Mary's family. I taught with Mary in the Lloydminster Public School system. She was a great colleague and always willing to share her ideas and stories. She had a reputation of being an awesome teacher and will be remembered by many students and staff. I also remember curling with Mary on a few occasions. She always had a smile and was fun to be around. It was a pleasure knowing Mary and to know that she did make a difference in whatever she did.

All of Mary's family: It was a great shock to hear of Mary's passing. Our family, the Ketchum Family, lived just a few houses apart on 45 Street and there are many memories from those days in the old neighborhood. A few years back, I was taking a bus up to Edmonton and Mary was boarding the same, for a trip to visit family. It was a wonderful trip - we shared stories and memories and most recently when running into her that trip always came up in conversation - it was a great way to share with her and a time I will always remember fondly. She was a great lady. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all of you in your loss. As ever and always: Sherlane (nee Ketchum), Gary, Logan, Tanner Phillips (Lloydminster) Adele, Dave, Corben, Claire and Isaac Johnson/Hickson (Fort Saskatchewan)

Batty Family, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mrs. Batty was my grade one teacher at Avery School, she was the BEST teacher ever!! I think I was her favourite student, because to this day she always remembered me. I am just teasing, I am sure she was loved by all her students over the years. She was a beautiful lady!! Rest in Peace Mrs. Batty
