QUINN ~ William Charles Quinn passed away in Vermilion, Alberta on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at the age of 85 years. Bill will be sadly missed by his wife, Gladys; four children: Rodney Quinn, Jim (Elaine) Quinn, Jerry (Eileen) Quinn, and Marla (Paul) Faltermeier; eight grandchildren: Jordan Quinn, Terra Quinn, Craig (Teneil) Quinn, Ashley Quinn, Rebecca (Don) King, Garrett (Nicki) Faltermeier, Cheryl (Tyler) Tannas, Brad Faltermeier; ten great grandchildren: Jayda, Russell, Chael, Marti, Kennedy, Hudson, Taryn, Rowen, Kaden, and Ally; Sister: Margaret (Bud) Miller, and numerous other relatives. Bill was predeceased by his grandson Sheldon Quinn and his fiancé Krysti Adam. The funeral service was conducted from the Paradise Valley Community Church on Monday, July 30 at 10:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Peterson officiating. The Eulogy was read by Don Purser. Rebecca King gave a tribute from the grandchildren. The solo "In The Garden" was sung by Art Block. The hymns sung were "Just A Closer Walk With Thee" and "What A Friend We Have In Jesus" accompanied by Amber Fehr on the piano. The honorary pallbearers were all Bills family and friends in attendance. The active pallbearers were Don Mayo, Neil Brassington, Rick Towndrow, David Brundage, Charlie Mauws, and Ray Burlet. The interment was held in the Paradise Valley Cemetery. Donations in memory of Bill were made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Charity of Choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Gladys Quinn and family wish to give their sincere thanks to the following: Dr. Sayeed for his years of care and friendship, the staff of Kitscoty and Vermilion Home Care, the staff of Mannville Care Centre, the ambulance attendants who transferred Bill to Vermilion hospital, the staff of Vermilion hospital for their kindness and care, Gregg Peterson for his wonderful service and words of comfort, pianist Amber Fehr and soloist Art Block for their gift of music, Don Purser, long-time friend for his warm remembrances and eulogy, Rebecca King for her heart-felt tribute from the grandchildren, the pall-bearers, the Paradise Valley United Church for their delicious and abundant lunch, all those family and friends who attended the funeral, gave cards, donations and flowers, the McCaw family for their exemplary and compassionate care. Your thoughtfulness, warmth and presence meant so much to all of us. Thank you, Gladys and family. Donations in memory of William can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or Charity of Choice.
