Obituary of Marie Groenen

GROENEN ~ Maria "Marie" Hubertina Groenen passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Friday, October 19, 2012 at the age of 92 years. Marie will be sadly missed by her ten children; Leo & Shirley Groenen of Edmonton, William Groenen of Spain, John & Colleen Groenen of Lloydminster, Maria Blanchard of Wilkie, Peter & Jane Groenen of Hay River, Louise & Keith Strome of Fort McMurray, Carol & Rick Fauth of Burstall, Gerald & Lori Groenen of Lloydminster, James & Vivien Groenen of Lashburn, Robert & Violet Groenen of Lloydminster, 20 Grandchildren, and 26 Great Grandchildren,3 brothers; Jaque Vercoulen, Jan & Dor Vercoulen, and Harry & Nel Vercoulen all of Holland, 1 brother in law Gerald & Annie Groenen & their children. The Mass of Christian Burial was conducted from St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Lloydminster, Alberta on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Marek Filipczuk officiating. The Eulogy was read by Aaron Mallett. The music during the service was sung by soloist Marlene Risling and accompanied by organist Donna Weston. The Active Pallbearers were Aaron Mallett, Justin Mallett, Bobbie Groenen, Steven Strome, Matt Groenen, Curtis Gordey, and Brett Fauth. The lunch was held at St. Anthony's directly following the service. A private family interment was held in the Lloydminster City Cemetery on Thursday, October 25, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Donations in memory of Marie may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Prairie North Health Region. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements.
