A few years back Brent was working on Brian Spooner's house, I was doing the heating. We had spotted a mouse and I stepped on it. I placed it on the garbage pile and thought nothing of it. I had used my electric sawzall for the last time that day, because I just bought a new cordless sawzall.. A few months later I kept smelling a funky smell coming from my toolbox, so I opened the sawzall case and sure enough the mouse was there. A few days later when I saw Brent again and told him about it he almost fell off the roof laughing. From then on every time he saw me he would call out Hey Mousy how ya doing? and make squeaking sounds! Whenever, and wherever I would see Brent he'd always have a smile on his face or a new joke to tell. The Lord needed a carpenter to build for Him up yonder and to keep Him laughing.

When I was a kid, Brent was like a big brother to me and I could always rely on him to help me and talk to me about anything. My fondest memories are bungee jumping with him in the Thousand Islands and him driving his 4x4 into a lake in Provost and getting stuck right in the middle of it. Brent never said that something couldn't be done. He was a very passionate and selfless person and while we haven't spoken in a very long time, I can only imagine how compassionate and selfless he was as a father. My sincerest condolences to his wife, children, Cory, Noel and anyone else whose life Brent touched. The world would be a better place if there where more people like him and I'm a much better person having had him in my life.

Brent and I were friends all throughout our teens and lost touch after he moved away for University. I'll never forget the good times we had all of us kids hanging out in his basement, laughing and joking around. I can't fathom what your family is going through now, but I feel I need to tell you I'll certainly never forget that smart and funny boy I knew years ago. Even though it's been 17 years, that part of our youth and the impression he left will always be there with me. I wish you and your family all the best during this extremly difficult time.
