Marliyn we saddened to hear of Don's passing. Our hearts go out to you and your family. Don was an important member of our North Am Energy team for many years and was also a great friend. He was always cheerful and everyone enjoyed working with Don. It was so nice of Ken Bills to let us know Unfortunaley we could not attend the funeral as we are at the Coast with family for the holidays. Our thoughts are with you all.

When I first came to work for Halliburton in Whitecourt in April of 1969, one of the first guys to meet me was Don. He had spent the winter there and was an old experienced hand. (to me anyway) Don sort of took me under his wing and showed me the ropes. My very first job with Halliburton was with Don and a fellow named John Klick. Don called him Colonel Klink from Hogans Heros.
One thing I remember about Don, is that he never ever wore a PAIR of socks. Oh, he always had two socks on, but they rarely matched. I don't know if he carried on this tradition after he left Whitecourt or not.
As time went on we seemed to be two peas in a pod. What he couldn't think of I could or vise versa. We had some GREAT times and I have some great memories.
After Don left Whitecourt (I think he transfered to Sarnia) we kind of lost touch. But he was never too far from my mind. We didn't see each other till a few years ago when the Halliburton Old-timers started getting together. He was a sight for sore eyes. We had many, many stories to tell and I loved every minute of it.
I sent the message of Don's passing to the Halliburton Old-Timers and I have had a few phone calls and a few emails expressing their condolences. Marilyn; I know you will remember some of these names; Ron Simard, Alex Troppmann, Harvey Knutson, Red & Bob Convey. All have/had, as I do, the highest regard for Don.
My wish was to be there for the service, but, and I hope you understand; the timing and the distance ............
Hope this helps in your time of need.

Brent, Nadine and Family: I just learned of your recent bereavement. I certainly understand the loss that you are experiencing, particularly at a time of year when there should be only happiness and joy instead of loss and sadness. May happy memories help ease your pain and sorrow at this most trying of times. In sympathy and friendship.

So sorry to hear of Don's passing...The memory that comes to mind is his laugh that came easily and his many hours watching sports that his kids were involved with. My sincere condolences.
