Our family was saddened to hear of Buds' passing. He always brought a smile and laughter to our conversations. Our grandchildren always looked forward to the special treats Bud always had for them especially the Halloween dish that grabbed when they reached for a treat. It always brought a smile and laugh from all of us at their reaction even though the kids knew it was coming. We miss him every day .....a kind man and a gentle spirit. Rest. in Peace

To Bud's family my most sincere sympathies. I didn't know him very long or even very well but I'm sure he was a good man. In October my Mom moved into the Dr. Cooke and she was "lost" as she didn't know anyone there. The first evening that we took Mom into the cafeteria area for a drink and a visit Bud came over and introduced himself and visited with us. He came and sat with us several times a week after that and it was greatly appreciated that a person we didn't even know would make the effort to help Mom and make her feel welcome at the Dr. Cooke.

My memories of Bud start at childhood as my parents Norm and Chris have been lifelong friends with the Taylor's since before I was born. I have never been a real big person but as a boy beside Bud I was a termite! I remember pondering how I could grow to be as tall as him? He was a giant!. Although I am grown now it's not Bud's size that I will remember most, it will be his patient gentle demeanor. My parents valued their friendship with the Tayor's and spoke very highly of them, they have supported us in loss, helped us when in need and made us laugh hundreds of times, in turn they have become part of our extended family. I will miss bumping into Bud at the mall from time to time and his company at breakfast on Sunday mornings, I will miss his stories and his sense of humor. Bud I am sure by now you have been reunited with Mary, enjoyed coffee with my mom and dad and are settled in telling stories just like the old days. Melanie, Hudson and I will surely miss you!

I first meet Bud when I moved to Lloydminster and was hired on at the Firestone Tire Store where Bud was employed. I worked with Bud for a couple of months, and as time went on I got to know him and his family. I was a young man at the time and Bud had 3 young daughters. I would stop in to visit Bud and his Family, well maybe it was more his daughters I would come to visit. . Bud and his late wife Mary treated me like I was a son. I was always welcome and there was always room for one more at the dining table. Bud enjoyed hunting and fishing, and included me on many occasions. One of my fondest hunting trips with Bud was to Frenchman's Butte, for rabbits. We brought home 2 or 3 and I remember I didn't get a one. Bud showed me the art of skinning and cooking them when we returned home. I still remember the feast! I have enjoyed sharing that story with my own boys. Another memorable time was fishing near the Deere Creek Bridge. Early one Sunday morning Bud & I took his old Chrysler wagon on some trail (that a quad today would have trouble getting through on). We spent the better part of the morning taking fish off the hook. I haven't found fish biting like that since. Bud would only take home enough for a meal or two, "need to leave some for next time," there was always a good reason to return.
I had the opportunity to renew my friendship with Bud just a little over a year ago when one of my sons who was enrolled in Rendell Park school program of pairing up students with residents of Doctor Cook. Elliot came home one day and told us that he had a " Buddy" at Dr. Cooke named Bud Taylor. My response, "Well I know Bud Taylor." And off with the story telling I went. That same evening I stopped in and visited Bud.
Elliot and I stopped in on several occasions over the next year to have a visit. Bud was able to come for a fresh fish fry in our back yard last summer, and that was an adventure for all of us. We stopped in just before Christmas for a visit with Bud, always a smile and a cherry hello, for Elliot his little Buddy.
Thanks Bud, for being Elliot's & my Big Buddy.
You will always be fondly remembered and never forgotten.
Rick, Elliot & the rest of the Clendenings

We were saddened to read of Bud's death. I had such good visits with him while doing services at Points West. I treasure the glass vase he gave just a year ago and how he was so happy to share his Christmas Train with our grand children. We are currently away but will be at the service in thought. Bud, you are going to be missed by so many but those stories you told will live on in our memories.

It is with deep sadness we learned of Bud's passing. I will always treasure my blown glass vase he gave me, and will treasure the memories of a very kind loving gentle man. He always had a smile and a story for me the many visits we had while I was cooking at Points West. God bless all he left behind and may you find peace at this difficult time. Sincerely Brenda
