Obituary of Rodney Dale Spence

SPENCE ~ Dale Rodney Spence passed away in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Sunday, February 10, 2013 at the age of 89 years. Dale leaves to mourn: his loving wife, Eileen of Lloydminster; four sons: Rodney (Maxine) Spence of Okotoks, Alberta, Wayne (Joyce) Spence of Widewater, Alberta, Merlyn (Beverley) Spence of Calgary, Alberta, and Neil (Melanie) Spence of Marwayne, Alberta; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and numerous other relatives. Dale was predeceased by his parents, Henry and Celia; and two brothers, Arlo and Royce. The Funeral Service for Dale was conducted from Marwayne Alliance Church on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Bob Aldrich officiating. The Eulogy was given by Evan Spence. "Amazing Grace" was performed by soloist Shelley West. The hymn sung "Abide With Me" was accompanied by Sandra Kneen. The honorary pallbearers were Danelle Spence, Jaime Pagè, Colin Spence, Craig Spence, Kurt Spence and Kendra Lake. The active pallbearers were Evan Spence, Ty Spence, Jordy Spence, Jason Spence, Tyler Spence and Daniel Pagè. The Interment was held in the Streamstown Cemetery. The reception was held in the Streamstown Hall. Donations in memory of Dale may be made to the Heart & Stoke Foundation or to the Streamstown Cemetery. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the funeral arrangements. Card of Thanks The Family of the late Dale Rodney Spence would like to thank the following people who assisted them in getting through their sudden loss of Husband, Father, Grand Father and Great Grand Father. Thank you to the Ambulance Staff who tried to resuscitate Dale, the Wonderful Staff at the Hemstock Lodge and Reverend Bob Aldrich for his thoughts, prayers and service. Thank you to Dean Wenzel, of McCaw Funeral Service, for helping us to get through this process. Thank you to Shelley West, for her wonderful vocals at the service and Sandra Kneen for playing the piano. Thank you to the Marwayne Alliance Church for allowing the service to be held in their facility and assisting with the music. We would like to thank the Royal Canadian Legion Members who attended the service to honor Dale. To the many friends of Dale and Eileen's, and residents at the Hearthstone and Hemstock, Thank you for all their concern and kind thoughts. Thank you to the Hozack and Tyner Family for supplying equipment and personnel to clear the access to the Streamstown Cemetery. The family would like to especially thank, Colleen Hozack and her staff for not only serving lunch after the interment but Colleen's constant consideration and attention of both Dale and Eileen in the past few years. A sincere thank you from Eileen, Rodney and Maxine, Wayne and Joyce, Merlyn and Beverly, Neil and Melanie Spence In lieu of Thank You cards, the family will be making a donation to the Streamstown Cemetery.
