Obituary of Richard Tollestrup

TOLLESTRUP ~ Steele Tollestrup passed away at the Lloydminster Hospital, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at the age of 67 years. Steele leaves to mourn his wife, Sandi of Lloydminster; son, Michael of Lloydminster; son, Jon and his fiancé Angela and children Spencer and Careena of Spruce Grove, Alberta; brothers: Wayne, Tim (Linda), Wally (Diane), Douglas (Val) of Raymond, Alberta and Phillip (Ruth) of Magrath, Alberta; sister, Barbara (Brent) Nielson of Mountain View, Alberta; sister-in-law MaRee Wilson of Banff, Alberta; brothers-in-law, Ken (Elaine) Fritz and Terry (Sharron) Fritz; sister-in-law Marilyn (Don) McRae and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Marion and Julia Tollestrup; brother, Allan; and in-laws Joe and Frankie Fritz. The Funeral Service was conducted from the Wild Rose Pavilion, Lloydminster, Saskatchewan on Monday, February 25, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. with Richie Davies officiating. The Eulogy was given by Bill Jameson. Tributes were given by Wally Tollestrup, Ken Fritz and Lisa McRae. The processional "Amazing Grace" was accompanied by organist Linda Anderson. The hymns sung were "How Great Thou Art" and "It Is Well With My Soul." Musicians "The Quists" played a solo "Sail Away." The honorary pallbearers were Steele's golfing buddies - The Bones Boys and Tom Cats. The active pallbearers were Tim Tollestrup, Phillip Tollestrup, Douglas Tollestrup, Wally Tollestrup, Wayne Tollestrup and Barbara Nielson. The Interment was held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Temple Hill Cemetery in Raymond, Alberta. Donations in Steele's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice. McCaw Funeral Service Ltd., of Lloydminster, Alberta administered the arrangements. Card of Thanks Thank you so much to Dr. Kerlis and the doctors and nurses at the chemo unit in Lloydminster. Thanks to Richie Davies for doing the beautiful service, and the Quists and Linda Anderson for the wonderful music. Steele would have loved it so much. Thank you to all the pallbearers. Also, to Bill Jameson for the eulogy, Wally Tollestrup, Ken Fritz and Lisa McRae for their tributes. A big thank you to all our family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, all Steele's friends in the cattle business and all his golf buddies. You all mean so much to us. Thanks for all the food and flowers and the lunch prepared for the service. It was greatly appreciated. Lastly, a special thank you to Dean and the McCaw Family for their professional assistance at this time. Words cannot express how we feel for all your overwhelming support for all of us.
