Written for my Friend and Father In-Law; by Rick Everson
Though quiet by his nature;
And Gentle in his way;
The first time I met Walter;
Was a very special day;
I knew from the beginning;
That he was a caring Man;
He always seemed to finish;
Though he never had a plan;
He always put his friends first;
And often fell behind;
But he never seemed to give up;
On being courteous and kind;
You could always count on Walter;
To help you when in need;
He cared not about the money;
And never worshiped Greed;
He spent hours helping others;
Never asking for a dime;
And when the work was finished;
He'd thank them for the time;
His passion was Mechanics;
And there wasn't very much;
He couldn't put back on the road;
With his hands and special touch;
So those of you in Heaven;
Who need a small repair;
Prepare to meet Old Walter;
I know he's somewhere there;
I never will forget him;
And will miss him every day;
But I know he is beside me;
As I continue on my way;
As for those of you who knew him;
I think you would agree;
They broke the mold when he was made;
A twin will never be;
So thank-you Walter for being there;
As more than just a friend;
A Grampa and a Father;
And a helping hand to lend;
Go rest in Peace now Wally;
God knows you have earned a spot;
You have touched the life of many;
And won't soon be forgot;
You were a Very Special Man in my Life Walter and the Dad I never had>>>>
Regards; Rick

Walter had a great laugh! He was always happy to see us, hear about our lives, and share his experiences. We were always happy to visit a favourite Uncle and share stories from the past. Family was important to Walter and Walter was important to our family! He will always be remembered with great fondness and respect.

To Walter's family....we have known Walter since RJR Noyes days but really got to re-establish our friendship when I did Sunday Services at Points West. Walter was kind and not afraid to show tears. He always found the positive even when I'll. We will miss him but has left behind wonderful memories.

My dear friend Walter has been in my life since I was a little boy when he and my Dad hauled gravel together in their trucks (1948). He was ever a joy in my life as I was growing up and we met again at Pointes West later in life where my mom resided. He recognized me immediately and I always sought him out whenever I visited. I will always remember the smile and the gentle sweet soul he was to my family and me. Rest in peace dear friend. My deepest condolences to his family. Doug Scott
