August 31, 1992 was a good day for me I had just finished my first day of grade 7, and I was rushing home from school because I had just heard that my oldest sister Bev had, had her baby and she would be home today. As soon as I walked through the door I seen Bev sitting on the floor with the baby in her arms. So I rushed up to see and then Bev introduced me to Kiera Drisana Bouchier and when I seen her chubby cheeks, I immediately fell in love and from that point my life changed, I had a friend to play with, more than that a beautiful niece. Our Pookie. I have alot of fond memories of Kiera. So I'll try to mention the best ones.
When Kiera was a baby and sleeping in her Cradle you would see Bev's Michelle's, Jeff's and my face hovering over her cradle with big smiles on our faces. All four of us used to get a kick out of her conversations with a cut out Minnie Mouse that Bev had set up by her change table. Come to think of it Kiera was always a sociable girl.
Even as a baby she loved to make people smile. I remember one time I was in my room and I heard Kohkom Julie laughing so hard so I went to investigate, and sure enough there was Kiera in her Jolly Jumper just jumping away and every time her kohkom would laughed a bigger smile grew on her face then she would jump funnier just so she could make her Kohkom laugh. But Kiera had a way to make everyone smile.
Like the time when Bev, Michelle, Jeff, Kiera and I, were cruising in Bev's Black Plymouth and Kiera would be sitting in her car seat singing away," Slow Ride, Take it easy." It was always one of her Requests.
But what still brings a smile to my face to this day. Bev, Michelle, Kiera and I went to go see the re-release of Return of the Jedi, Kiera was still a toddler. The scene of Luke Skywalker removing Darth Vader's helmet and when she saw Darth Vader's pale white face she turns and asks her mom," is that Humpty Dumpty." All you could hear in the darken movie theatre was Bev and Michelle laughing. That was always good to hear.
Kiera is very special to us and we had hoped to give her the best part of us. She inherited her mom's quarkiness; she learned her work ethic from her Aunty Michelle and she had her uncle Jeff's heart. She also had her uncles Ron and Larry wrapped around her little finger. Where they gave in to every request she asked. She kept them running they loved you very much.
For my Family I have a feather that I am going to pass and I would like you to think of the most fondest memory of Kiera and we will give it to her to help her on her Journey back to the Creator.
See you later Kiera, Uncle Mister loves yeah and is going to miss you very much until we meet again.
Papa Wayne has a set of Eagle wings waiting for you and he will introduce you to Kohkom Leona who will teach you how to use them, and you could show Chapan how well you could fly.
"Keep going Thunder bird woman!!"
