Donna loved to shop for other people. She was always looking at items and think how wonderful this would be for her family and even friends. When suggested that Donna should get something for herself she would think about it and then spy some amazing earrings. She had earrings for every occasion---even sport events. Her enormous collection was kept on racks that Brian had made for her. This would allow her to choose the best pair for each occasion from Halloween, Valentine's Day, St Patrick's Day, Canada Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and any other day. She said the little people always admired her choice of earrings but grownups loved them too. Each time you saw her you would have to see what pair she had selected for that day. She had a story for each pair and shared it with a smile and giggle.
I'll think of Donna when I see special earrings that she would have chosen.

When I told Derrick of her passing he was deeply moved. It brought back memories for him of days gone by when the two of them would go to the shop. Derrick remembered her kind heart. Since I had known Donna for so long I also called her and thought of her as my 'second mom'. Obviously so did many other people!! Out of all of the hours she spent with our 'gang' of preteens, JUNIOR HIGH teens, and cool high school teens, did I ever see her angry or hear her raise her voice. And there certainly were some times when anyone would have been pushed to the limit and far beyond! Donna always had a big smile for EVERYONE. I think of how similar she was to Grandma Fisher. I am sure that they are enjoying their time together in Heaven and watching down on those whom they love! You are all in my thoughts and prayers.

Our deepest sympathy goes to Donna's family. Donna was such a kind and caring person. She always made others feel the love and friendship in her presence. We had many good times visiting and sharing stories at trap shoots around the country. Everyone who went into the store was always greeted with Donna's smile and invitation to stay and have coffee. I had the privilege of working with Donna at Winston Churchill School. She truly had a gift for working with young students and other staff. We share your sorrow and know that all who knew Donna may feel blessed to have been in her presence.
